I'm A Christian, But I Cuss A Little

Boyyy, this t-shirt got people mad, mad.

This blog is gonna be very short and to the point.

There are several types of Christian. You have the real Christians, the fake deep Christians, the seriously deep Christians and the flawless Christians.

Which one am I? None of them.
We have to shake this, Saints.

The new wave of putting your sin on blast came from a good place, I'm sure. It became a thing with intent to smash ideas that Christians are as perfect as we will be in eternity. It wasn't supposed to be a way to coddle, embrace, or perpetuate sin.

The preexisting wave of staying silent about sin came from a good place, I'm sure. It became a thing with intent to smash ideas that Christians can sin as much as they want. It wasn't supposed to be a way to puff oneself up, or hold an unrealistic level of perfection.

This is my position:

When I'm real about my imperfections, not glorifying my sin, but just talking about my experience with it, people in the world get saved and some people of the church get uncomfortable. Now, listen: It should always be clear that sin will kill you. SIN DON'T LOVE YOU. However, we must make it extremely clear that we never stop needing to repent. We should never make it look like our debt to repentance is paid up. When we acknowledge our sin, we must acknowledge the death that it leads to and the grace that covers us to remove it. This is why it's not okay to have a shirt that says "I love God, but I embrace [insert sin here]". As a Christian, we know our sins will be the death of us. It only takes ONE sin to do it. There is no sin that we can safely embrace.

If I can tell a prostitute that my lustful thoughts/behavior will be the death of me, I am not only giving truth, but admonishing. Paul, your favorite apostle, admonished the people based on what he saw of their lives. I could say that I struggled with lust, but I'm a woman wrapped in flesh. Sin has to die daily. I can never pretend that that fight is over. We are never done killing the flesh for as long as we are wrapped in the flesh, but we can have victory over it EVERY DAY.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a common enemy, whether you're flawed, flawless, fake deep, real deep, or lukewarm as all get out. You have victory over sin by the blood, but I promise, if you get too comfortable, the enemy WILL catch you slippin. Satan is a mass deceiver and the bible says that even the very elect may be deceived, if possible, by false messiahs and prophets in these times. STAY VIGILANT. Don't think you can't be touched. Stay covered. You can't do this on your own.

too much love,
youdontknowmebro
