Is God Pleased With Your Worship?

All the worshippers!

Y’all remember the song “Praise Is what I do” by William Murphy?

I know that not everybody listens to the same genre of gospel music though do I’m gonna take this moment and type a blip of the lyrics:
“I vow to praise You
Through the good and the bad.
I’ll praise You,
Whether happy or sad.
I'll praise You in all that I go through
Because Praise is what I do
and I owe it all to You.”
All the worshippers back in 2005 felt this one.

I’ve never been extra great with song lyrics, so recently I found myself saying “I vow to worship you” instead of praise you. And it ministered to me so much more deeply.

Here’s why: I never really had a major problem with singing praises unto God during tough times. I’ve been completely out of order with the Lord and still participated in praise dance. It was hardly difficult to say “hallelujah” (—the highest praise) or lift my hands, even during my MOST frustrating times.

However, it has been hard to worship before in that uncomfortable state. Why? Because worship is a manifold construct. Worship is a combination of what you say, how you live and what you believe! Even during the part of service where you sing songs and cry is not necessarily a moment of worship if you have not truly done or pressed toward this one thing: surrender.

This is why it’s important to “worship” during the good and bad/happiness or sadness (refer to my rendition of the lyrics above).. Because if you cannot worship, or surrender, during certain uncomfortable seasons of your life, you cannot be used by God. God will take you through trials as fire and you MUST be ready for it if you will be used by Him, if you call yourself a worshipper.
"Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. (‭1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭12-13‬ KJV)"
Worship is the combination of what you say/sing [Everything we say in those worship songs that we love so much], how you live [do you obey Gods voice and His word? Do you really give Him all of your life in your decisions?], and what you believe. What you believe, do and say should all line up; and this is the chemistry of true worship. So, we can fool each other as worshippers, but we cannot fool God.
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24
Slow songs don’t turn Him into putty like they do us. But the scent of the flesh being burned and us recognizing Him for who He is in spirit and in truth, will steal His heart and beckon His presence.

The plants and animals are living things, but have no free will to choose whether or not they will worship. Thus, the dogs must bark and walk on all fours. The trees must grow and provide oxygen until the end of their lives. Humans, however, have free will; and with that, we must choose —better yet, we should VOW to live and do whatever it is that God has said.

This is the art of worship.

too much love,
