Unpopular Love

It is the unpopular love that withstands fire.

It is the difficult fight to reject your own wants, that is in love, that conquers all.

It is the drive to give your time, effort, resources, and sincerity, that is in love, that cannot fail.

There are not enough butterflies or heart eyes in this world to replace the power, that is in love, to cover faults.

There is no body temperature warm enough to bring a scorned heart unto true healing and deliverance from darkness. The only comfortable places in love are seats of wholeness when men and women experience forgiveness undeserved and when calamity is kissed by understanding.

Love is actually less popular than people realize, forever mocked by his swift forerunners Romance, Admiration and Passion. Men and women cleave to these three not knowing that they have missed the substance that might actually cause them to grow.

Romance and Passion pursue hearts, similar to Love, in that they consume the lives of people who are broken in either one place or another and soothe discomfort for nights at a time. Admiration draws them in to meet at a platform that seems strong but has no foundation. Unsuspecting people consider the cluster of emotions to be the same as an authentic Love which never ceases. If love does not cease, then what is it that disappears from a happy home? Is it something that was never there? Or is it something that was never pure?

The fact is that Love, in and of itself, is pure. People can do their very best to demonstrate Love, but they are only successful if they play by Love's own rules. Love is never more powerful than when it is personified as patience, forgiveness, longsuffering, understanding, restraint and consideration for the sake of another person. Love is never more pleasurable than when it encompasses both romance and passion within the rightful context of a lawful, and faithful lifetime commitment; and is all the more spiritual than it is simply physical. Love is never more divine than when it endures the most painful circumstances and then still chooses sacrifice without mutter or record; never more pure than when it serves truths and guards against evil darkness with wisdom and initiative.

Of course, though... this is what might be called unpopular Love; it is life, itself, but is not noticed long enough to even be missed.

Let us not merely say we that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions 1 John 3:18

Let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loves is born of God, and knows God. He that loves not, knows not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:7-8
